Co-Designing Participatory Research for Responsible Innovation
The IN-SIGHT project, funded by the Dutch Research Council (NWO), launched in 2021 with the mission of ‘Making the Hidden Visible: Co-designing for public values in standards-making and governance’. Over the past five years, the project has explored innovative methods to engage laypersons in discussions on complex sociotechnical issues like standard-making. As we approach the project’s conclusion, this workshop provides a space to reflect on participatory research methods, share best practices, and discuss practical takeaways for responsible innovation.
Workshop Overview
- Review the participatory method experiments conducted within IN-SIGHT.
- Identify challenges, opportunities and best practices for engaging laypersons in sociotechnical discussions.
- Develop actionable insights for implementing participatory methods on real-world settings and sketch forward-looking paths OR a future research and intervention agenda.
